watt HELP...

Default watt HELP...

hi audio people. my brother is in need of some help. he has a 97 prelude sh, with 2 phoenix gold amps, 12" kicker sub, and sony speakers or something like that.
i was wondering how he would about finding out the amount of watts his system puts out, because he is looking to get a capacitor and is not sure which one to get. thanks for any help.

how many watts? hmmm well how many does your amp push. you shoutldnt need more than a 1 farad. im pushing almost 2000- and i use a 1 farad, and its fine

I have a Phoenix gold amp in one of my cars so I know what documentation they come w/... the Phoenix gold amps should have come w/ a box and a manual.. the wattage (RMS) and peak is listed on both the box (specs) for both 12V and 14.4V, there is also a bench test graph of the actual wattage of the amp, and the general specs are also listed in the manual...

if for some reason you guys don't have the documentation if you post the model numbers (on the casing of the amps) I'm sure someone on this board will know their output...
