Any one daily drive a dart block? (On boost)
I heard the coolant passages are to restrictive for daily driving. Is this true? Has any one had problems with Dart B series blocks in a daily driver? The only reason i ask is because i want to start building one soon if i can daily drive it
I have dart sleeves in my gsr (84mm) and I have hade zero cooling issues. Its daily driven at around 360whp. I know of others running dart sleeves without cooling issues too.
A friend of mine in college had a dart block, daily driven (well, daily when he drove it) he has a 40 minute highway comute, and had no cooling issues. He had an aluminum radiator, and FAL fan (i think) and it always ran correct water temp...the car was mid 400whp too.
Dart blocks are supposed to have improved coolant passages versus a traditional sleeved block...lol No cooling issues guaranteed.
My Dart block setup has been running for a long time now.. It's still running now, but it's probably time for a rebuild because my titanium retainers are worn out and getting really thin...lol About 6 years and 60k miles on it currently, and for the last 5 years it was at around 420 WHP. Now it's at 560 WHP for the past year.
