need info on my 88 accord hatch
I just picked up a 88 accord hatch and i was told I can swap the motor with a 91 prelude si motor.i was told it just bolts right up to it. Its a carburated motor so i wasnt sure. any info on what i can do to the motor and our all around car let me know. thank you
he lied, the h22A doesnt just bolt up.
theres a web site which has people that sells "b-series" mounts for your 3g accord.
i suggest at least swapping to fuel injected engine because you will have nothing but trouble with your carb. i also have a carbed 3g.
i pm'ed you.

carbs aren't terrible as long as they are clean and well adjusted.. and the H motors didn't start until 92..

the only bolt in B20A is the one found in the 3rd gen accords over in Japan and New Zealand and Europe and finding one is a 5speed trans is pretty damn hard
Most of them last forever without ever having to touch them or do anything to them. I wouldn't go so far as to say they suck. They're not high performance, or basic carbs by any means, but they are fuel efficient and pretty reliable. Armed with a service manual, most of them can be fixed pretty easily.
The easiest engine swap for the 88 accord is the DOHC EFI engine out of the 89 prelude. It doesnt just bolt "right" up, you will have to finagle it in. That was what i did before i decided to go back to the SOHC 12valve and build the hell out of it. one of the first things to do is to run your intake to where the moisture collector is in the passenger side front fender area and ram air from the vent on the bottom of the front bumper cover.
