because 3000 is the recomended rpm to shift at, your shift light may be set for a 6 or 8 cycinder engine

well i clipped the wires so it would be set for a 4cylinder. idk. i just reved my engine and turned the *** till the light turned on. the light works fine but the numbers on the dial are off. w.e i dont even no if im going to keep it. or i might just do some custom fab and take it all apart an put the light somewhere in the dash. with out the whole tube thing.

the only time you would ever need a shift light is if you're tracking the car, other than that, imo its a rice item.

its his car and its his gauge he may do as he pleases with it, **** all this RICE bullshit! everyones differant and has differant fews and thoughts on differant things for cars, so while one may like somthing the other wont so that would just make everything rice! to each his own. OP you may jus have a dodgy gauge but its up to you what you want to do with it, good luck
