Ok, well I have lost my keyless locking remote for my 98 Honda civic. So I bought a cheap one off of ebay to reprogram it. Went through the directions, It didn't work...

Weird part, everyone says it wont work on 96-98 civic's if the stock radio is removed. However befor I lost the original remote it worked fine with an alpine radio installed in it. So therefore the seller I bought the car from must of put a transmitter from a 99+ civic or has the stock radio somewhere in there right? Well regardless this remote should be able to be reprogrammed or it's junk. It is identical to the remote lost and the light lights up when I press the buttons.

So I dunno i'm just tottaly confused right now... what should I do?

 

alright it does have the stock radio in it, it was behind the cupholder flap that I leave open all the time. BUT I can't find a "valet" button that I heard you need to press to activate the remote.
