Default Help with sub

Hey guys, i have a 10" JL sub thats being powered by a legacy amp. Today i wired in a new ( to me ) cd player because my old one didnt have outputs. The cd player install went smooth like butter. But when i went to install the sub, i had a bit of difficulties

The amp is set to "mono" and is bridged. Before the amp power wire was even connected, the sub would play but it was very weak. So obviously i connected the power wire, and it still was very weak. I played with the amp, changed the bridge connections and still played very weak. the only time it plays decently well is when i hit the "boost" option on my deck, and with the amp turned up to the max setting, its still pretty weak imo. Somebody please help! Ps Im getting a proper ground, im getting 12 volts at it, and the amp power is ON. Please don't tell me i need a new amp

Did you have it wired to your old cd player with a loc?

i've seen amps come on minus the required power before by looping a ground through the rca's, etc. You have one of those issues that just doesn't ring a bell to me, its something you should probably have someone look at, its more than likely something minor if it is not the amp, but i don't even know where to start when asking question on this one, i could be so many different variables.
If it all worked "fine" before the Hu swap, you need to check head unit settings, and as stated above, are you using a module?

I should clarify my original post. My original deck was NEVER hooked up to this system that i just installed, only the new headunit is. Im pretty new at the audio game, so sorry for my bad terminology.

Not exactly sure what a loc is, but im pretty sure i'm not using one. Espescially since i don't even know what it is, lol.

LOC = Low Output Converter, it take high level speaker wire signal and converts it to a Low ouput (rca) but if you never had it hooked up then surely you don't have one.
