Default lower timing belt cover

i am missing the gasket that routes around the cover,on the inside. has anyone NOT used that gasket before? will it be ok if i do not use it? i ask only because the dealership is asking 43 dollars for it lol

Fill in the groove with some sort of caulking or gasket maker, let it dry, and trim with a knife or razor blade. Should work just as good.

Ah i shall use gasket maker then lol.

You could get one for less that half of that at autozone or napa
