Default valve cover gasket

Will I need to change the valve cover gasket if I remove the valve cover to change the timing belt or will it be ok?

Is liquid gasket as effective as the stock gasket.

I can't be certain but considering they cost so little, I would just change it while its off. Better safe than sorry.

I pulled my valve cover off to change water pump and timing belt and I put it back on and used the red liquid gasket on it. You will see where old sealant is on it... just apply new sealant to those areas.
