Default Gsr turbo low boost problem.

I have a tial wastegate with a .4bar(5.80)spring. It should be reading at least that but i am only reading 4psi on my gauge. I have my wastegate tee-d into my FPR on my IM. I have also tried to run it straight to the IM and still no change. Why am i only running 4psi? I do have an exhaust leak where my DP connects to my turbo by one of the bolts i just need to tighten it but that wouldnt cause the low boost would it?

My setup is stock JDM GSR with skunk2 IM and full peakboost ram horn turbo kit.

you loose pressure across the intercooler.
that could be it.

It also depends on where your wastegate is T off

where is ur gauge reading from? is it an intercooled setup?
there will be a slight loss of boost from intercooler
or gauge is not reading correctly

Most gauges don't read correctly and not only will the intercooler cause a restriciton but the cooler air takes up less space so the pressure will be less. Put the wastegate on it's own pressure line and think about what you need to do to turn up the boost because 5psi is a waste of time anyway haha

why are you only running 5lbs? that is a waste of money. Turn up the boost. BTW your gauge isn't going to be 100% accurate. You want accurate get a tunerview and read directly off your MAP sensor.

yes i know 5psi is a waste of time and money ha. i did everythign backwards. i was told by a few people that since my wastegate has a 5.80psi spring that it will not go below that and most likly be around 6-8psi. So i didnt see a need to buy a boost controller because i want around 300whp. but now i need a boost controller and a retune for 7 or 8psi which is like another $250 bucks or so. Because dont i need to retune it if i up the boost some?
