Default Custom Gauge Setup

Here is a work in progress of my friends 09 civic coupe. He wanted stealth gauges so I made them in the center console pocket. The gauges are hidden behind tinted glass so they aren't visable when off. The gauges he wanted were Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, and boost. Also I added a PLX M-300. I modified the Plx unit so it would have a remote display so it can be mount virtually anywhere in the vehicle. He wanted the gauges to dim when he put the parking lights on so I made a circut to drop the power to the gauges so they weren't so bright at night. Also he wanted it so when you park the car somewhere you can put a lid over them to cover them up. I made three plates for him. One is 2x2 twill carbon fiber, one is 2x2 red kelvar, and the last is yellow kelvar. Here are some pic(not the greatest but you'll get the idea)

Red Kevlar Lid

Yellow Kevlar Lid

Black Carbon Lid

Finally a quick video

I like it construction, just not the short sweep gauges and the 15psi boost gauge. It looks and im sure functions awesome, something Id definately use in my car.

I'm still tweaking somethings to make it just how he wants it. Going to be modifying the dimmer circut so the boost gauge dosen't dim out as much as others. Trying to make them all balanced. Also need to finish up the engine harness for it to go under the hood. I will get some in-car pics as soon as possible.

I've also been contracted to design a similar setup for a 94-01 integra aswell as 96-00 civic. I might even try something for 92-95 civic.

Do the panels pop in and out really easily? Looks like you'd need some decent nails to get that thing out of there. Nice work though.

its deceiving they are very easy to take out. They are also felt backed so glass dosen't get scratched.

I decided to mock them up in my 08 fg2 to give an idea of what final product will look like.

From driver's seat

Then just the lids installed

Looks like form over function with the placement of those things though. I wouldn't want to look down as I'm ripping on my car to keep track of things. I guess it's not a huge deal depending on what gauges you're using though. Great work man regardless.
