1994 Throwing CEL Code 22 (VTEC System Malfunction)
1994 EX F22B1
car just started throwing a CEL, jumping the connector shows its code 22: VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch
So im assuming variable timing is no longer functioning? I havent checked to see how teh car is performing in the upper RPM's, but is it worth getting this checked out? Is this code a common one?
I'd prefer not to dump any more money into the old kid. TIA

First thing to do is check your oil level!
If that is not it check your wiring from the ECU harness to the pressure switch, if the wiring is good, then replace the pressure switch.

It is connected to the VTEC Solenoid. Back of the valve cover, passenger side. The pressure switch has two wires, one going to the ECU and one is a ground. Like I said, check your ground, and also check the resistance of the wiring from the switch to the ECU harness connector, also check for continuity to ground(short). Then replace the switch of you wiring is good.
Sometimes if the vtec solenoid can leak due to dry brittle seals that's inside of it when u take it off...I had a problem with this and the vtec would not engage cause it was leaking oil behind the solenoid. Make sure to check for that also...
