EX/Si trannys also have larger bearings for the differential carrier bearings (IIRC the mainshaft bearings are also larger)

even 300whp wont ever make use of it. his best bet is the EX tranny. even then, top speed is un reachable with 300whp

alright sounds good. i knew the ex tranny could hold alot of power but wasnt sure as to why. with the closer gear ratio am i going to have to worry about beating the crap out of my turbo on 80+mph highway cruising.

The difference at cruising on 5th at 80mph is a few hundred rpms if this calc is correct. Ur turbo wont be on higher boost if that's what ur worried about. Besides, U can adjust how much boost u are on with ur throttle.

If ur serious about how much your tranny can "handle" have it rebuilt by gearspeed. But for everyday street, stock tranny is fine as long as your clutch can handle it.

you can be at 150 mph and still not be in boost...

boost is related to throttle preassure.

Using a DX tranny or by saying its better is saying being in boost longer is better...thats all bs...closer gearing is faster....

but the longer gearing is good for 500+ hp when you need gearing for traction.
