Default 04 si grind changing to second gear

ive searched around a little for this and dont see anything about it.
if im, lets say drag racing, my 04 si, i run to 6000-6500 rpm in first, when i shift into second i hear a grinding noise, as if i was lettting off the clutch too early, but it happens AS im changing the gears while the clutch is still on the floor.
the only times it hasnt done it is when i take it really slow shifting to second.
i dont run the car hard that often but im really afraid im gonna totally kill my second gear.
ive owned a 98 integra ls and a 92 civic w/ b20 & gsr trans, and never had this issue with either of those.
if anyone has had the same issue or knows anything about this please let me know.

the problem is with the RPM hang . You can flash the ecu or use KRPO to get rid of the RPM hang

I thought the RPM-hang issue was only on drive by wire (TBW?) cars?

I've noticed with some people that with the shifter position where it is, they tend to shift too quickly. It's really easy to slam the shifter down from 1st into 2nd pretty quick and that split second that you do shift before the clutch is totally engaged prolly reaks havoc on your transmission. I can't guarantee that's why that's happening but makes sense to me.

EP3's don't have rev hang as far as I've seen since they're not drive by wire. The grinding gear thing is fairly common for EP3's and RSX's, you can try new honda tranny fluid which should help but for some people, nothing really helped short of a rebuild. If you happen to be under an extended warranty of some sort, now would be a good time to use it.

I agree, if you have warranty use that warranty. If not this will cost you a lot of money to fix.

my girls 02 EP does it sometimes. she has 124k on it tho. its never been beaten on except for me sometimes. her EP is drive by wire, if you mean drive by wire being electronic TB then her's is DBW. there is no cable to the TB.

Are you sure you just can't see it? The cable should be on the bottom inside of the throttle body from where you would be standing to see it. If not, that's pretty dope that your girl drives either a K20z3 or K24 swapped EP.

I've noticed mine will grind sometimes too, only when shifting hard/fast from first to second.

I only have 44k and change my MTF every other oil change.

I've noticed that with cars that use shifter cables, it's better to shift a little slower than usually would with a normal rod type shift linkage, especially in spirited driving. I don't know but it seems like the shifting isn't as responsive. Same problem in an old H22 EG.
