For the higher HP engines, 500whp+, that see some hard use the Manley turbo tuff, Pauter, Crower billet, etc. type rods offer some extra protection. For most people Eagle, Crower econo billet, Scat or other forged rods are more than adequate for turbocharged engines. If engines are tuned properly (timing, AFRs etc) and built properly there should be no issues about rod problems. They tend to occur primarily due to detonation, overused rod bolts, oil starvation, worn bearings, bearing gaulling, improper clearances and assembly errors.

I like the Crower Billet's, been running the same set for years. I am going to upgrade the origional bolts this year just for peace of mind.
