I posted something very similar in the accord forum. Looking to upgrade my exhaust with a custom 2.5 inch exhaust. My only problem is, what muffler would work well for this setup? I plan on using a resonator, but don't want my car to sound exaggeratedly loud. I understand that with a larger exhaust and a free-flowing muffler, noise will increase, but there's got to be a muffler that will provide an aggresive tone, but won't be unbearably loud.

apex N1 is nice. 5zigen fireball worked extremely well on my old car with 2.5 inch piping. it gets loud at high RPM though. it had a high pich tone to it... but i loved it anyway.

 

N1's are loud. Esp with N/A cars.

I wanted a low restriction muffler, so I went to the local NOPI and picked a muffler right off the showroom floor. It looks like a dual N1 muffler, without the Apexi price. I had the muffler shop custom mandrel bend me a 2.5", with hi-flow cat and a loooong a$$ resonator. The sound is bearable. I don't drive too far to work, so it doesn't really bother me. Plus, I was mainly looking for a non-restrictive exhaust. I have my Civic if the exhaust ever annoys me. *Usually the morning after long nights of drinking*

 

I got a Tsudo aggressor (the dual one) got CDE motorsports to cut it in half ie make it two mufflers and weld it on it sounds nice and i split the cost buy selling the other half to a friend. It has lasted 2 years of harsh VA weather i'm gonna temp paint it black and it will be sleeper looking.

 

Im using the DC sports one. I love it. only loud when i get on it. other wise its realativly quiet

 

So what you're saying is that you used the DC Sports muffler with a custom 2.5 inch exhaust? I was thinking of doing the same, but if the exhaust diameter is 2.5 inches, shouldn't the muffler be the same diameter as well?

Yes. H22akrd - You have a 2.5" setup??? Do you have any other mods, like headers?
