So my friend is letting me take his 93 Accord SE off his hands because he doesn't want to put anymore money into it after having the head rebuilt. He said he was driving home and the oil light came on and it began making a pinging noise so he parked it where it's sitting now. We started it up the other day and I made sure it had oil but the oil light still stays on and it pings the whole time it runs. My best guess is the oil pump isn't pumping so I got instructions from Autozone on taking the oil pump off. I was wondering what I should look for as far as damage to determine if I can salvage this motor even though if I have to replace it I' prepared to do that I'd just rather not.
