Default Loose spring?

I recently installed new KYB GR-2's on my car. I noticed that the spring(eibach sportline) is loose between the top and bottom perch? Is this normal? This is only true when the car is completely jacked up.

yes, it's normal. that is if the sportline springs them selves are shorter then your oem spring. which it should be.

Then you should find an alignment shop with a competent technician.

In some states, having a spring loose at full droop is grounds to fail a safety inspection. People in those locations need to use tender springs to take up the extra space.

However, many of us have all 4 corners do this when the car is jacked up, without ever having an issue with it. 3 years now, never a problem for me, and I lift an inside rear tire cornering. The swaybar keeps the spring in place when a wheel leaves the pavement.

that looseness gets filled when you lower the car.

tech should have said.. "no alignment due to vehicle not being "stock" height.
