Default AEM water/meth injection (please dont move)

I know the water/meth doesn't belong in this forum, but my questions is relating to engine management.

The AEM water/meth injection comes with a sensor so when you run out of water or water/meth mix, it grounds out the sensor, can this be used to switch maps to a lower boost map, or how could you wire it with the engine management so you are protected if it were to run out of water? thanks for the help.

Im going to be looking into a little similar..Might want to check the AEM forums or DSM/Subaru forums as they use meth more commonly.

thanks, but I need to know how well it meshes with the s300 or neptune rtp, because I don't think I will be shelling out for the aem ems which I already know backs off boost and timing if the water/meth pump fails or the jug is empty. I am going to check though, because they may have a non-ecu trick to get the boost or timing to back off if it is empty or pump fails.

You will be able to setup an input/output with s300 or neptune rtp etc...

S300/Neptune/Ectune all have inputs/outputs with variable triggers

As stated; it works fine. Granted the AEM had alot more options as its based off its own software. But itll do what it needs to do. AEM has its own fail safes.

Basically the green wire from the AEM controller is the Boost-Safe output. It is a 1.7amp switched ground. So if the Hondata or the Neptune can accept a input of a switched ground and when it sees that it can change to another map or somethine else.

Other ways you can hook it up is through a Ignition System like a CDI which when it sees a switched ground it will retard the timing.

Another way to do this is hook this wire up to a solenoid in line of your boost line. This wire will go to the negative side of the solenoid and hook the other side up to power. When you run out of water this will trigger the solenoid and cause it to dump boost pressure to the wategate to lower your boost.

That's exactly what I would do. Easy, simple, functional.
