engine stamp???

Icon2 engine stamp???

right my civic had an engine swap before i got it. but the guy wasnt sure what engine it was that was put in there. is there anyway of finding out what engine it is by a stamp or anything? its a D16 summit with vtec. but not sure where too look anyone that can shed light would be a legend

look on the block next to where the tranny bolts on the block in the front, it should say d16z6 or something of the sort....

Probably was covered up with grime so you couldn't see it...

To the left of the Exhaust manifold. See in the bottom left says d15b7, yours is either a z6 or y8 which is fine.

it says d16y7 :S but its definatly got vtec? :S:S is it possible to have the d16y7 block with the y8 cams and ecu for it to become vtec? or not im really confused lol.

cams and ecu wont give u vtec... does it have a vtec silenoid?

i dunno mate im not that mechanically minded lol where is it located? there is a deffinate boost at about 4400rpm...?

behind the valve cover to the left; if u look at the front of ur car. it looks like a thimble...

if you are putting a swap in it then I wouldn't even worry about putting a vtec head on it. Just save your money and keep if for your b16 swap.

yeah thats what i mean no point throwiung away cash on a d16 when i need to save up for the b16 anyway
