Ok here goes. I'm having more than 1 problem with my vehicle. First off im getting the check engine light daily. It comes on once im on the road for about 5 mins. Second problem is that if i dont let the car warm up I get up and down idling while im driving. The rpms will go up then retract to the speed im driving. Example im doing 65mph on the frwy the rpm is at 2 1/2 all of a sudden the rpms goes up to 3 and them drops back down without me giving it gas. Third problem is that when i get into the car to leave a (say 30mins-3hrs of sitting) the car will act as if it wants to shut off. It stutters like its not getting gas, of the right air flow. After about 2-3 mins of this the engine light comes on and it starts to drive normally but i cant come to a quick stop or it will shut off. So i have to slow down, slow down with ease untill i stop completely at ever traffic signal.

Should i look into just getting another car. My cars fully paid and i would love to keep my baby rolling but i need help and answers. Thanks in advance

 

All of the problems listed are known and common, check the FAQ on first page and learn a little more about the proper way of getting rid of these problems, there's no need to get another car.

 

^^ thanks for telling me some good news. Can you be a bit more specific seeing that you know what each individual problem is. Like what exactly are they. Bad electrical, bad intake etc. Once i get that then im good from there. Thanks again. I've never been a person who fix on cars. I mean i try and learn as much as i can whenever the time comes. So i will be taking all this in.

 

Why haven't you had the CEL scanned?

 

is that the check engine light?? you mean why havent i had it diagnosed??? I havent been able too. im down and out from surgery but should be able to go next week.

 

Yes, and that'd be my first suggestion. It'll at least give you an idea where to start.
