i have a noise coming from my d15z6 mini me. i am not sure if it is spark knock or a slight rod knock. it basically sounds like a exhaust manifold leak but its not. dosnt go up with rpm just happens when under load at low rpm. thanks

Use an inexpensive engine stethoscope to pinpoint the source of the noise. For example, is it from the head, block, or drive belt area?

I bought an adequate engine stethoscope from Harbor Freight for about $4.

You shouldn't need 93 octane for your engine, right? Have you checked the ignition timing with a timing gun?

well i have a 10:1 cr so i've been told to use 93. but i used to get by with 89. but also my rings were fried so i replaced my rings and i got the rattle noise so i wasnt sure if it was rod knock or spark knock. and i have a timing gun but no timing marks on my crank pulley its aftermarket. but either way if i needed to i could just retard it and let it run like ****
