hey i have a 1996 obd2 honda accord that now has a obd1 h22a motor and im getting a check engine light after 4 years of having the swap... im sure its jsut a sensor gone bad or something but the car runs fine and i wanted to still get rid of that light and find out whats going on...

i know the obd2 machine wont plu in and work... is their a way i can put the car in diagnostic mode to find out the code with the obd1 engine and ecu??

under the dash on the pass side there will be a clip with two wires...you need to jump the two of them (with a small piece of wire put into each end of the clip) and then turn your key to on possition and count the cel sequence

 

ok cool that worked but now its giving me code 42 and i cant seem to find out anything about that code... weird thing is the abs light is the one doing the flashing not the cel lol ???? weird


like it will go through the flashing 3 seperat time 42 each time

 

If the ABS light is flashing than it's an ABS code.

yeah i sorted it all out

apparently a pin popped out for the engine diagnostics plug that your supposed to jump, it popped out from the ecu connection point... so it got put back in and when the cel went off again i jumped it and got code 12 which is egr and checked the line and the egr tubbing came serperated at a point... small fix and easy ( thankfully)

and yeah thatnks for the abs codes... and yeah my fornt left speed sensor was acting up years ago so i just had it disconnected so basically abs dosent work anymore so that explains that
