Flooded roads, H&R race springs, and an H22
I got caught out in the rain literally and I am almost positive that I sucked some water up into the intake. I drive the 45 minutes home without incident until I get to my exit. The car just stalls out at the stop sign. Ok, well **** I start the car back up fine and take it home(please note that I am having to rev up the engine at every light to keep it going.) I change out the plugs, seeing as how mine were black, and now the car doesn't die. However the idle jumps between 100 rpm and 1000 rpm, it is running rich as hell at idle, and it just sounds weak. I also got a CEL while on the interstate, which turned out to be the TPS. Could a TPS be fouled by a bit of water, and what are the symptoms of a bad one?
well, any sensor is water sensitive if it's not properly plugged in or if some wires are not protected. but i don't know if that's the case with your car.
something similar happened to my friend after a rainy day... i'll ask him about it, i'm pretty sure it was TPS.
