Default check engine light trouble

Hi, tonight i was driving my stick 2009 civic, and i was sitting at a red light on somewhat of a steep hill, as the light turned green i let out the clutch without giving it enough gas, and guess what, it stalled, what a surprise, but that was not my problem, after it stalled i tried to start it again and it would not start, i tried a few more times and finally it turned over and i made it up the hill, part way up the hill i noticed my check engine light had stayed on and has not gone off since. I've stalled out before with no real problem, could i have done anything to damage the engine?

the check engine light deals with emissions equipment. just disconnect your battery for minute or so and hook it back up and see if it works.

that would probably reset the light, but is there any chance that i did any real damage that i should worry about?

Never heard of major damage from a standard stall. I wouldn't worry about it.

Unlikely, everything is just way too new on an 09 civic to get damage done from a stall. Unplug the battery and reset the ECU. If the light comes back get the code read and see what it says.

shouldn't be too worried about it if all that happened was a stall.

its not a big deal if ur car stalled and the CEL came on. it went off which means its a temporary dtc. if it was a real problem it would stay on. go get a scanner and see what code u get. maybe a sensor tripped cuz it lost signal when u stalled. cmp or ckp sensor or mainshaft speed sensor. some crap like that. like ur the first one thats ever stalled their car. lol its nothing.
