Default New Skunk 2 IM for 06 + Si?

Has anyone here used or heard anything about this new IM? I wondering weather this would be any better than the RRC Type R IM. Thanks.

more than likely it is better than the rrc.
i just got my rrc installed and im gonna see what it does
tomorrow at dyno day at inlinefour.
then im probably going to sell it and get the skunk2 one.
but it does have a 70mm hole for the throttle body, so most likely
im going to get a tsx throttle body.

you have to remember that the RRC is just an oem upgrade.
most of the aftermarket products are going to outperform it.

Thanks for the info. What size is our stock TB and is the TSX a direct bolt on? Also, with the Skunk 2 IM, can we still use the OEM IM cover? Thanks.

you're welcome. im not sure, but i heard the tsx one is bigger, so i was just gonna get one of those and get it port matched to the intake manifold. and they're both dbw tb so its interchangeable, and u need an adapter i think to run it. but if you get the blox throttle body spacer, it has the adapter built in. thats i what i have. and im not too sure about that, most likely not. but i managed to find a way to get the rbc im cover to work with the RRC =]

Thanks. Would you let me know how it all works for you because I'm going to upgrade my IM and your build will help alot. Also, are you going to put it all together with the new
Hondata Pro Flash? Please let me know how your dyno works out also. It's really helpful to compare notes with others who are modifying similar cars.

the skunk is gonna be quite similar to Porting the stock IM for us. roughly around a 7hp gain. give or take 1 or 2.

There's only so much you can do. especially since ours is damn near the best made out there right now. Porting yields some nice gains and I dont see how skunk could make anything more out of it. of course a TB comes into play but you can match that to the stock one too.

i suppose i should say this is all my OPINION.

Seems that 2.0 and 2.4 TB's can be ported to the same size by Maxbore, so you don't have to buy a TSX TB. Just send them your TB to get ported. I would contact http://www.maxbore.com for details.

From the site:
K series
All 2.0 and 2.4 to 65mm with a 70mm tapered opening

When I had a S2 IM on my B-series I sent maxbore my TB and they did great work, the porting on the TB matched IM perfectly. I still have that thing laying around...I should sell it.

Thanks for all the info. I like the idea of using the RRC as it is OEM and a Honda product.
I eventually will make a decison one way or the other.

the tsx tb is the same size as the ported si throttle body..give or take .5mm..

you can get the tsx and port it to 69mm...

i bought the tsx throttle body because its about the same price as the porting service, but you still have your stock tb..

the si tbs will work with the tsx tb on either the rrc or rbc aswell

well the maxbore site says 65mm with a 70mm tapered opening. so its somewhat of a velocity stack deal.
