Default j32 EG swap- NSX ECU?

Getting battle plans ready for this swap. Motor, trans, and mounts so far. Management system is next. But I was pondering the idea of using an OBD1 NSX ECU. Seems alot easier. Any thoughts?

NSX's are C-series engines. I doubt the harnesses will match properly.

OBD1 NSX. Use a modded EG harness. Just have to rewire the injector wires to match J32 firing order and add 2 more injector wires. Use a 99 accord v6 distributor and plug wires. So no "coil on plug". The only stumbling block I see is the VSS signal. It Just seems to make more sense doing it this way. Feedback?

Unless you're doing a piggyback on-top of the ECU, you're not going to have proper timing and fuel maps.

WOW. That's a whole lot of screwing around. Why don't you just get the ECU that's DESIGNED for the engine?

The fuel and timing maps will be off. For starters, the cam profiles are very different. Honestly, I think you would be better off going with a J motor ECU.

I have the motor installed. Still need to get axles for it. The reason I asked was because we had an NSX ECU on the shelf that had been there for a few years. There is a guy here in town that says he can tune it. OBD 1 is easier to wire in. I researched J32 manual trans ECUs and they are all throttle by wire and immobilizer locked. The throttle by cable ECUs are automatic trans equipped. Im gonna give it a shot. I have all the parts. Hey, they told Columbus the world was flat! The only problem I see is getting the VSS to work properly. When I get it started, I will post.

Bleh. The nsx ECU may be worth the hassle in that case.

Be VERY careful if you are planning to 'program' it by socketing the chip. Its not like other Honda ECUs. Hondata tried for a while to sort out the factory code and work out a good solution for programing them and decided it wasn't worth it. If you are just going to tweek the fuel curves a bit, it probably isn't going to be that hard.

Also, I just noticed bisimoto has cams for J motors.

Best of luck with your project.
