Default Msd Ignition With A chip?

Ok I have a 1994 Civic with a D16Y8. I dont have a turbo. I bought a P28 Ecu with a chip that was tuned for another D16y8 with a turbo. I Was told in my last thread my car would probably run really rich with this chip and should go back to stock. Now my question is If I have a full msd set up Coil, Wires, Box and Some Bocsh Plat 4 plugs would that make it not run as rich since it would have alot more Violent spark to burn the fuel better?

msd is a waste, honda ignitions are good for 250hp...

Dosnt the Msd box amplify the voltage to the coil (coil is able to hand extreme voltage vs stock coil) to generate more spark at the plugs?

LoL ignition won't matter for ****. if the ECU is telling your car to run a certain way....then, well, that's how it's gonna run regardless

aftermarket ignitions are perfectly fine for hondas

they wont necessarily be a huge improvement, but if you like revving high, they are a good thing to purcxhase. so what if the stock system is good to 650 (not only 250 lol) horsepower, every little bit helps

No good spark will not fix a rich running situation, but it will allow teh car to deal with it better. you are still cleaning the cylinder walls of oil which isnt good. grab a chip burner off ebay for 30-40 bucks, take the chip out of your ecu, and burn a stock d16y8 basemap on there, and it will be back to normal.

Sorry well I thought it The msd coil was to handle higher votage and the box doubled what the ECU or ICM signal was sending it. I thought the stock coil only got so much so even if you put a MSD box on the stock coil it amplified the volts going to it but the coil couldnt handle it. Damn I need to find somone to reflash my ECU I was counting on just being able to unplug the chip since they didnt just soldier in the chip they put the jack in so it can be removed. So all these people that buy a chip and just Soldier it in arnt getting crap unless its tuned?

Should I sell My p28 ECU like it is on ebay and buy a stock one?

thats whats called socketed. it means it can be removed to change the program burned on there. yes, tuned would be good. you can do it yourself though, lots of writeups ont his.

search for d16y8 basemap, download it, download crome or uberdata, open the basemap, plug in your burner, check that your program recognizes it properly, burn onto the chip in the burner, remove chip, plug into socket in ecu. each chip has a little D shape at the end, that side faces the ECU plug connections

if you want it, I can see if I still have one on my computer. but they can be found. if d16y8 base map doesnt bring anything up, try searching with the ecu code. Mine would be P06, so I would search P06 basee map, as accordingly lol

do realize, you can use a P28 code if you want. there is only a slight power difference

I have a d16y8 basemap if you wanna PM me your email address

found it on d-series.org, stated that it is a basemap, though not verified. right now I am looking at it with crome to see if it really is one

otherwise I can give you a P29 (d16z6) basemap. there is only a 2 horsepower/torque difference between the motors

OK I double checked tghe d16y8 map. if it is a base map, its quite a bit more lean tuned then the p28 maps I looked at. I know honda lieks running there stuff rich, so maybe this Y8 mapo I have is tuned to run slightly lean. OR I can give you the P28 map after toning the fuel down a tiny bit

or all three and the program for you yourself to look at
