Default pass. window pops off track, how to fix?

its a 90 crx and someone busted passenger window back in 98 to steal my stereo, after window was replaced later on it started getting popped out of the track.

you can get it on track if you push while rolling up slowly but once its in place then you can't roll it down or else it will get off track again and you will have to get it on track manually all over again.

what steps can i take to fix this myself ?? i assume first take off door panel and get a visual inspection of the workings and if anything is broken or loose ??

i have'nt taken a door panel off before but i can find using search on here i'm sure.

but anyone have ideas or advise to get me in the right direction ?? is it usually the regulator ?? thanks

I had this problem with the driver side in my hatch - regulator swap fixed it.

i had a problem where my window would roll in and get jammed up... turns out my regulator had twisted backwards and was rolling the back up before the front. maybe you have a similar problem?

Could also be the rubber that goes all the way down into the door. If you are not in those tracks then you can "put it in the tracks" on top but it will not be in the lower section. It sort of will just fold it over on the way down. The only way to fix whatever your problem is, is to pull off the door panel it is very, very, very easy. Go from there, look at the regulator but it does not sound like your problems.

thanks for the replies, ..........so you don't think it sounds like the regulator ?

so before i start on it what things can i do to check ? any parts other than the regulator i should be looking at, sorry i'm not familiar with the inner workings of a door cause its just something i have never messed with before, but i guess its time to learn.

is there a diagram of the door & window parts where i can get a good visual of how a window works ? any extra tips would help, thnx

Take the door apart and look at it.

I had the same problem with my HB, the glass wouldn't roll up and down
without a lot of guidance. Turned out to be 2 problems: one of the glass
mounting tabs was broken, and one of the 'arms' of the regulator had
snapped off. Very obvious once I took it all apart.

Who knows what damage may occur during a break-in. Whoever replaced the
glass screwed up.
