you can get the kamikaze w/ a 2.5" colector and they are dirt cheap. I`m going try try one w/ my 2.o jrsc`d gsr

I think the header that will yeild the most power is the Kamakaze (sp?) ask Rboosted717.

There are 2 Kami 2.5" collector headers available. One has a chrome finish and the other is ceramic coated. The ceramic coated versions also come with a better detailed collector.

david, ever consider doing a header for the JRSC. I know Hytech makes one, but I was wondering if you too were gonna make one. The Hytech is nice, but it looks kinda too similar to the Kamakaze with the exception of the 3" down pipe hytech offeres.

I have the ceramic Kamakaze with test pipe and thermal 3". The setup is great, however the kamakaze's poor design makes the collector gaskets and bolts to bust off all the time. Even with double bolts, lock washers, and lock tite on all 3 bolts, I still bust them off. But yeah the Kamakaze is a killer bang for the buck as with the thermal setup.
Later on when your searching for every little last bit of power, then consider going to a custom setup thats made for your car/setup, however thats tons of money so I suggest only doing that once your going for that little last bit.

Are you breaking the bolts? Or do they just come loose. You have to use a hi temp graphite gasket, like the one I sell with my cats. If you use a paper type gasket it will burn out and then the bolts will come loose since you'll have a gap between the flanges.

Why don't you weld the flanges together. I could cut your header right after the bend and open it to 3" and then weld a flex tube to that. That is if you think your set up would warrant the size.

To answer your question, I'm just not sure if the power increases would justify the cost of a custom header over the Kami. But I haven't seen any comparisons between the Kami and a custom SC header. If your interested I could always build you one.

yeah what you said is exactly what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure that if I do a custom header I should be able to calc. the prims, collector, etc... all from looking at the shape of the dynoplot. I'll let you know on it though.
But yeah the cost of a custom header vs. the $300 Kami mind bender especally if the gain is small. However I'm sure that if we do a custom header it will be the max any header will put out for the setup so it might be worth it. I'll let you know.

But yeah I use 2 alum. gaskets and a .5" metal spacer between the collector and down pipe because they made the header incorrectly so it wouldn't clear the oil pan clearence. I'll let you know whats up on that and send you a E-mail with pictures. But yeah I might just try what your talking about.
