Default Engine Rev up and down after 2 min

I have a Accord 98 LX. I am having problems with the car. When the car is started it runs fine but after 1 or 2 min the car rev's up and down. If I put the car in Drive or put the AC on the car will run smoothly. Please help.

Idle control adjuster. Either it's an air leak or your fiacv needs to be readjusted but the easiest fix is the idle control screw but I don't know if the 98-01 models have it

thanks for the quick reply. Let me check for air leaks and also if 98 has a idle control adjuster. I did not want to confuse the readers but I want to add some more details so that maybe it will make more sense. This car was given to me by a friend who had indicated that the car had overheated and stopped on the highway. Initially I was able to start the car by changing the spark plugs and spark plug wire but had the same issue which I am having now. At that point I did a compression test and found that 2 cylinders did not have good compression. I have changed the head gasket put in a new thermostat put in a new radiator and changed all the belts. Will get back to you after I check the above
