Sometimes the car just wants to stall out at idle, and if i play with the temperature control lever, the car bumps the idle back up. This is beyond me, i have no idea whats going on there.

Also sometimes driving at lower speeds the car starts to chug, and then run rich for like 3 minutes, and then everything fine again? No ideas here either

Check your antifreeze level. I know if you have air bubbles in your water system it can make your idle all crazy.

 

Would that explain why the temperature control brings the car back to normal? I have checked the system, i think i got all the bubbles out but, you never know right?
