Default D16Z6 head on a D16Y8 block question.

Can I put a D16Z6 head on a D16Y8 block? Any help is appreciated.

ya you can put a z6 head on a y8... what car are you doing this in cuz if ita EK 96-00 then you will have to get a z6 dizzy and put the y8 plugs on it cuz the y8 dizzy wont bolt on to the z6 and the z6 dizzy wont plug into the harness... but dont let this scare you, cuz its easy. all the colors are the same the only thing is theres 2 white wires. just hook them up and try starting it and if it dnt start then swap them...it wont hurt anything

a z6 flows better and has a better cam but it will lower your compression but hardly at all

thanks for the info boosteddohczc. i was about to sell the y8 block i just bought and buy a z6 block to replace the bad one in my eg.
