p1259 VTEC system malfunction

i have that code on in my car, d16y8. will that make my car not start? just curious because my car is not starting.

what do i do to fix this problem, i tried unplugging the solenoid but still wont start. but the cel went away. how to i check for this vtec problem, i am a noob and need help. where would i start?
