Default running 96' d16y7 civic obd1?

Hey, I just got a 97' civic dx. It has a healthy motor and I was thinking about throwing a turbo on it and tuning with crome. Do I just need an obd2a to obd1 harness and run an obd1 ecu? what if I want to change out to a y8 or aftermarket IM+TB?

Yes, you'll need an obd2a to obd1 conversion harness to run a obd1 ecu. Also to run obd1, you'll need the intake manifold from the Y8 5-speed, also the throttle body, but you can also use the b16 throttle body as well, but the IM from the Y8 is important because you need to run a 2-wire iacv, instead of a 3-wire iacv, which all y7's, and all auto y8's have. Aftermarket is also an option, but using a 5-speed Y8 intake and TB is the easiest route to go.

OBD1 - must use 2-wire IACV! 3-wire IACV will not work.

These links below are for OBD2B! If you're OBD2A, use the link above and go to the correct links under 'ECU & Wiring Tech'.

Remember: 96-98=OBD2A; 99-00=OBD2B
