Hello I havent posted in a while but i got my crx running decent and though deq. Yay. Now I'm thinking to the future. My crx is obd0 currently and has a y8 head on it. I was looking into going obd1. The only thing's I'm stumped on are, is if I go to a p28 ecu and i get a jumper harness for obd0 to obd1, what distubutor should i use considering the head unit is obd2? Do I buy a y8 distubutor and dumb it down so the ecu can talk to it? Or is there a obd1 distubutor that works so I'll only need the obd0 to obd1 dizzy jumper harness? Also the 02 sensor needs to be a 4 wire one so it can be hook up properly, witch one would that be? I read that it comes off a 90 to 92 civic?. I also know I'll need a jumper harness for the vtec solenoid stuff, just to make wiring easier for vtec.

so the short version is I have a d16a6 with a y8 head on the stock ecu.

what dizzy do I buy for obd1 considering the the head is obd2?

I "know" I'll need to buy
p28 ecu chipped with a y8basemap
0bd0 to obd1 jumper harness for the ECU
dizzy obd1 (dont know what 1)
0bd0 to 0bd1 dizzy jumper harness
vtec harness kit
And a 4 wire 02 sensor (dont know what 1)

is there anything I missing?
when I get the $$ to do it I plan to just order everything I'll need all at once. This car is now my daily , I just figure I mite as well finish setting up vtec. It's got the head unit on there it already runs and drives. All it needs is a new brain and the right connections and I'll have a crx with vtec yo ! I appreciate any and all help.

If you get the right adapter harness for the O2, VTEC, etc this sensor should work - I used it on mine before going to wideband setup: Denso 234-4099 Oxygen Sensor (http://a.co/d/c1deqdx)

Awesome. Iv been doing a lot of reading tonight and I think i decided to go with a p28 ecu,, a d15b7 distributor, and a 4 wire 02 sensor from a 92 civic. I'm also planning on getting the rywire obd0 to obd1 conversion kit with the vtec and 02 sensor sub harness. The dizzy I'm looking at fits the y8 head and since its obd1 it will work with the p28 ecu. The ecu from what I gather doesn't use the knock sensor so no check engine codes. Also this is the most plug and play style way to get vtec. The only wires I'll have to put together are the 4 for the 02 sensor and the 3 (think its 3) for the vtec.

I'm planning to get the d15b7 distributor seeing as its obd1 and supposed to fit the y8 head unit. Unfortunately I'm gunna pass on the harness for now. I dont got the money for it honestly. I'm hoping by feburary to get a

4wire 02 sensor (92 civic)
P28 ecu
obd0 - obd1 ecu jumper harness

most likely just gunna get the rywire kit seeing as it has what I need, besides the dizzy and the ecu. Id also get the vtec and 02sensor add on's. They say it makes it pretty much plug and play. Just talked to the place I plan to buy the ecu and they say they can do something based on my setup. Also gunna disable the knock sensor. Said they could do something on a y8 basemap. I'd be happy to get this all bought by February but most likely March. I'm just happy it runs right now. I'm honestly scared to change it but I want vtec and I think if got it figured out.
