Transmission pops out of gear
The Tansmission falls out of second gear only. This only seems to happen at autoX and at the track not daily driving. The shifter box is mounted on top of the exhaust tunnel. The cables run through the heater core hole. They dont seem to be under any stress or odd positions.
I have rebuilt a few B series transmissions. I feel comfortable changing anything in the trans. Im worried I wont be able to see or tell whats worn.
Does this sound like a syncro or shift fork issue. Im reading similar problems with third gear on RSX's. Seem like the suggested factory fix is the whole "gear set" as syncro's are not sold individually.

Potentially could be a worn / bent / missing blocking ring spring. Could be a worn countershaft bearing. Obviously, narrow out the shifter cables and the shift box on the trans before pulling anything. Doubt that it's shifter cables though.
Getting the countershaft apart on the K is a bit more difficult than a B though. But the transmissions are constructed nearly the same. So you shouldn't have difficulty. But you'll most likely need a press to seperate the countershaft pieces. Good luck.
