Default Update on my Rust problem (photo)

Alright, i finally got down to work on this rust problem. I clean the rust up on both side, however i notice there was a holes at the back. It kinda deep so i was wondering if could cover it.I

I mess up the original paint on the side while i was cleaning the rust so i was wondering, what can i do get those minor sratches off.
Wet sand it down and add some compound on the polisher? I don't know if that will work?

I'm not understanding exactly what steps you took to eradicate the rust problem?

From what it *looks* like, you went over a rust hole with body filler or glazing compound?

I had clean it up with water and some soup detergent. I scrape down all the rust on it. I already said that i cannot do welding. Someone before point out that the holes isn't really that big to put bondo over it. It just a minor holes not bigger then 2 inches. I cean up on both sides already. I just mix it with bondo and cream harderner and paste on the metal. I sand it down then featheredge it.

I put glazzy putty on it because i had pinholes so i decided to put and then wet sand it again. If the rust problem start to develop again then i might i have to DIY welding. This's my first attempt.

I just need to know how I'm going to fix those minor sratches i made on the original paints beside the bondo stuff i put?

i had a similiar problem i took my die grinder and ate as much rust out of it as i could the welded in a piece of metal. but since u cant weld what i have done in the past was get some clear silocone and paste it all over the bare rust on the back side and just do regular bondo on the outside. the silocone will stop any water from penetrating into the metal therefore no more rust (then there already is) and the bondo will soak up any moisture left in it. and u can paint the silocone and it will look like factory sealer. hope this helped.

u washed rust down with water and soap?... water causes rust....
the correct way to have done this would've been to take a grinder... or sand paper if u dont have a grinder... and sand all the rust down.... f u cant cover the holes with welds at least use fiberglass filler... not just regular bondo....

but yeah... with the scratches, you're f*cked =D they're too deep to buff out

FWI, paint will not adhere to most silicones. So I don't know how you can paint over the silicone!

The reason why i wash it with soup and water are the dusts and debris not because of the rust. I let it fully dry then sand it off with both grinder and sand paper then blow it off. IF the bondo fail then i will have to try another way. I'm no professional but I'm here to learn something. The sratches on the paint on the side are not too deep. Just minor sratches with sand paper.
