Default 89 crx w/b18 swap..need major help

Hello...I'm new to these forums but not to honda's. I am needing major help with my 89 crx race car. It has a b18b swap. Keep in mind this is a fully stripped race car with full cage and no dash. The car runs really good and idles perfect. My problem is after about 6-8 laps (3/8 mile asphalt track) the car will act like it has no fuel...stutter and will not get out of it's own way. I push the clutch in and let it come to idle and it is fine again for another 2-3 laps. I have a new fuel pump with constant 12v (on toggle switch) 40-42lbs fuel pressure idle and 50 at WOT. It also has new fuel pump screen and fuel pressure regulator. The car sat for about 3 years and i had to do extensive work to the fuel tank as it was rusted and had water in fuel. I don't know if it is throwing a CEL as i dont have the cluster in the car. I have tried many things to solve this problem, but it still is happening. The car runs very well and pulls like mad untill this problem happens. Any thoughts would be very helpfull.

If it's throwing a code and it's still obd0, just look at the top of your ECU case, you will see a LED flashing this will tell you which codes if any you are throwing. All codes are stored into memory unless the ECU is reset.

I believe it is obd1. Distribertor plugs are square and different than the one out of a 90-91 teg engine that i got at the salvage yard. ECU is a PR4 i think, but the car is in another state. I will have my dad check for me later in the day and get back to you. It does have a diganostic port in the wiring harness. I bought the car with the swap already done..now im chasing my tail.

If the distributor plugs are square the car is obd1 so either it has a conversion harness on it, or the whole harness is obd1, in which if it's not using a conversion harness, by the pass floor there is a connector that looks like this:

Put a paper clip in it to jump the codes the check engine light will flash on the cluster.

If it's converted using a harness usually a blue and orange wire put together makes the code flash.

Car has no interior..is completely stripped. Also, no dash or cluster. Plug in the harness is zip-tied up on the driver side. Or maybe that plug could be for the cluster..which i dont have. How do you pull the codes with no cluster? I dont think it has any conversion harness on it.

Ok my dad just called me and it is a PR4 ecu and has 3 plugs..so OBD1 harness. I just found out that there were some spliced in wires in the ecu harness...probally that went to the MSD box that i was not using. We are going to take the MSD completely out of the car and stick with the stock ignition. Is the ecu case supposed to be grounded? Looks like im trying to fix someone elses nightmare that i purchased. Any more help is appricated.

Put the cluster back in, if you don't it will cause an engine code as well.

How much fuel is in the tank too? I had to run 3/4 tank for races in my Civic when I raced in H5...if I let the car get down to below 1/2 a tank I'd get fuel starvation in right hand turns causing it to stumble. Was a pain the butt for enduros where you wanted to run it low to reduce pit visits.

Unfortunetly, i don't have a cluster..bummer. I usually run about 5-7 gal of fuel. I only turn left...it's a circle track car..ie: nascar style. Gonna try to replace the distributor with one off of my other 93 teg and see what happens.
