need help with 86 crx! Please
okay so i bought the 86 CRX for 800 bucks from a kid. Its in great condition no rust. He had swapped in a fuel injected engine into it. It was loading up with fuel really bad so i took it to my mechanic. He told me that it needed a new fuel pump. He put in the one that was suppose to go into the car, but its still loading up. The pump he put in was also a high volume fuel pump so dosent sound right. So i took the car to another mechanic one that supposidly knows Hondas very well and he put a fuel pressure regulator and it pulled the pressure down to about 55psi at the rail, and he said its suppose to be 40 and didn know what i should do. So Im asking you guys for any help at all on this problem. Some symptoms of the problem are you can smell unburnt fuel, you can see white smoke from the exhaust if ya rev it at all or just step on it. It bucks in lower RPMs and when just slowing down and speeding back up. Also it backfires when you let off the gas then give it more.

the 2nd mechanic put in a b and m regulator on it and that helped tone it down but we maxed it out like all the way down and its still to much pressure i did not check the ecu how do i tell?

the mechanic put a b and m regulator like on top of the stock one and that had a vacuum line going into the top of it. I couldnt find any leaks before. I asked another person and he think that the ecu may be wrong, because the guy that put in the fuel injected engine kinda did a crappy job and may have not changed it from the carberated one.
