you could always replace the tape it comes with.. use some heavy duty automotive 3m double sided tape. several of my friends have used it to hold down their roof spoilers and rear trunk spoilers on their 350z and have not replaced it once. Holding on like a champ. Hope this helps.

As far as "tape-on", the only concern i have is, is it all-weather HD 3M tape?? Because i used to own a Mitsubishi GSX and i had some tape-on moldings and with just a little water...i found my molding in the middle of the median. lol. Make sure the manufacturer just didn't put regular 3M double sided tape on there.

good point guys. but won't the tape make the moldings stick out more? i'm still 50/50 on this. i might just leave it as it is. would like to hear more though.

Well, the thing with any type of tape whether it's 3M, Scotch, etc.. is that it expands. Overtime you could have the possibility of noticing your molding stick out a little..but since the tape is thin and can't expand very far it shouldn't be something to complain about..

But i do like the idea of leaving them off. I have a buddy with a 1995 EG6 and pulled the side moldings off and then sculpted a thin horizontal sheet of fiberglass to cover up the miles of holes from the side molding piece. Looks phenomenal.
