Default fuse blown, any particular idea of what might have happened?

hi everyone, i have a hi everyone, i'm new to the honda-tech community and also new to the honda scene, and loving it! i have a 98 civic dx hatch manual tranny, with around 84,000, installed an alarm system 2 weeks ago, and never had a problem with the car ever since, until today. saturday (4th of july) left the car at my girlfriends house, and went out. when i got to the car, it started right up and i drove the car home ( less then a mile ) . didnt drive it on sunday at all, and today monday i went to start it and nothing.
i found out that my fuse 31 ( starter signal fuse ) had blown, its obvious i'm going to replace it, but is there any particular reason why the fuse took a dump just from 1 day of not running the car?

fuse could of just went bad. sometimes is happens. Replace and if it blows again then you have a short somewhere.

update, so replace the fuse, and still the system is not responding, which means no starting or turning over.
but i've notice and felt the starter cut relay clicking. might it be bad?
the new fuse hasn't blown. hahah

oh my alarm is still not responding to anything, also noted that my radio turns on and plays music. can it be that my battery is in its last stretch of energy and about to take a dump on me?
P.S.:
-battery readings w/o key on ignition is of 12.38
-battery readings w/ key in ignition ( turned to acc) is of 12.08

well battery at 12.38 is like 60 percent charged. so your battery is low charge but that isnt the concern.

double check the wiring instructions again for the alarm. no one can give you a positive answer.

for future reference.. it sounds like you have two problems. one fuse blew.. two battery died. your not in the clear yet with that fuse popping.

also try gettign a voltage reading while "cranking" your car. with the way you decribed your battery i wouldnt be surprised if it dropped way below 6 volts while cranking. that would be obvious that your battery is toast.

i'll do that next time something happens, but as soon i put the new batt in it started right up no more issues. i kinda figured it was the batt cuz not even my door locks were working. and when i put it in i took a reading of the alternator ( in the case ) and it read 14+ so that one is good. i'll keep my eye on the fuses.

i wouldnt be surprised if the batt just said i hate life and died, the previous owner said the car had been stopped for close to 2 years, and i have been driving the car since february and nothing was wrong.

looks like what happened to my girlfriends corolla, one day was driving fine, and as soon we stopped the car for probably 1h the batt was dead (wierd, i know) nothing was left on or anything, it simply died, probably faulty batt.
but i'll keep that in mind, thanks alot for all the help!

most likely the battery short celled common problem with cheap batterys. mine crapped out twice where it had 12.99 with no load, put a load on it went to 5.5 volts.
