Default Code Intrepertation

Hello, thought I had my 92 Accord fixed but the problem is back!
I am getting an error code through the D4 or overdrive light on the center PRNDL selection. When i short out the connector the code is:
1 long flash, then 4, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8.

Then the cycle starts all over. Help please!

I can't give you any help on that, but i'd suggest you to take your car to an auto parts store that can read your codes at no charge, that way, you write it down what it is and come back telling us what is going on.

Long blinks are 10's - long =10
Short blinks are one's - short, short, short = 3

example
long, short, short, short, short = 14

So if you saw a long blink followed by 4 short ones without a pause it would be DTC 14. if it was a long blink then a pause followed by 4 short then it would be DTCs 10 & 4.

Thanks. I have seen the codes listed but have never seen so many at one time. I was hoping someone could shed some light about the other flashing codes. There was a pause between each set so I assumed that they were all different.
The D4 will not illuminate when the car starts normally.
If connected to a computer will anything show up when the car starts normally, ie. no problem?
I can't get any codes when I short out the connector and the car starts normally, but I assume they are erased when I reset the computer.
However the D4 is still out.
Would be nice to know what the problem is with the D4!
I would hate to pay someone to hook up to the car and not be able to find anything

I thought a 92 was to old to hook up to a computer????

So your car starts properly, does it drive & shift between gears properly as well?

Yes, after the car starts it drives fine! No problem shifting gears, accelerating or anything.
Also, after I get the car started it will drive and start fine for several days. But after a long sit or setting in the rain, the problem is back!

Sounds like you may have a short or some corrosion in your lock-up control solenoid connections. Might want to give them a look over and make sure no water is getting into the connector somewhere. try putting some dielectric grease in the connectors.

However the D4 is still out while driving.
