doin a dpfi to mpfi swap
ok guys....
need a lil help here. im doin a dpfi to mpfi swap on my 88 rex dx and ive acquired most of the parts so far..
1. 91 si engine harness
2. 91 si dizzy
3. 2 91 pm6 ecu's
4. 91 si injector resistor
5. 00 y8 intake manifold w/ all sensors, injectors n fuel rail
now my question is will the y8 manifold work? ive already found the postin on doin the swap and i kno i have to rewire a few things, so that part im clear on, i just havent found a post yet where they swapped in a y8 manifold.
Ne help would be much appreciated

im not gonna sell rex im just pissed that she's buggin on me again, fried my guauge cluster, stupid *** dpfi sux ***, n im just not gettin answers from myself lol
And no, you don't NEED obd0 injectors, unless you plan on using the injector clips from your 91 si engine harness, THEN you NEED obd0 injectors along with an injector resistor box. If you don't plan on running obd0 injectors then you will need the injector clips for the injectors you have, and you will need to delete your injector resistor box.
Seriously, just use your stock DPFI harness, and add the necessary wires. It's REAL easy, and a LOT less of a headache then trying to do some crazy *** wiring conversions... Been there... Done that... Or you can continue your path of trying to do things yourself and not taking anyone's advice, but I'm just trying to help you out get things right. If you need some injectors, I got some obd0 240cc injectors that I'm going to sell from my spare manifold, they work flawlessly.
Dpfi to Mpfi is so simple. Yes keep the original harness. Si harness is only good for donations. THe Si harness is different in many ways and just can't be used without serious modification. So just add four wires to your existing harness. I have made subharness before to do this. Using the complete y8 manifold with injectors makes the wiring really easy since no resistor box necessary. Since you have both complete harnesses you can make this look really nice and factory like. Either way there is plenty of info out there to make this easy for you. Good Luck
preciate it guys.. im not tryin to be a hrad *** but like i said i had never done this kinda mod b4 so i was tryin to root out all the bs n get it done correctly n "clipse" i never said i wudnt take advice im just stubborn dude/chic... so no ill will there k.
ok guys back here again.... picked up a FULL 91 si wiring harness aka gotta donor car with totaled *** end. so now i shud be good b/c it has everything i need cept a damn radio harness again. so i shud now be good rite???
yeah just strip both cars down remove the whole cars harness and install the whole si one.. wish i would of gone that direction lol would of made things simpler when i do the wire tuck..
also wouldn't of had to repin the ecu harness **** is a pia

question? if i just wanna swap my dpfi to mpfi with non-vtec throttle body is it hard cause i am prolly getting a parts car but its not an si model just a dx i belive. so is it hard to swap throttle bodies to my 91civic cx? all have all the stuff to swap off a runnign car so what will i need to make more power with the parts cars motor to mine?
if you use everything from an si then does anything to do with v tech get in the way? i am planning on doing this in the future so just want to clear that up. i have a dx so it is the d15b2/non v tech
not trying to be a dick but its VTEC and here u go....
