Default doin a dpfi to mpfi swap

ok guys....
need a lil help here. im doin a dpfi to mpfi swap on my 88 rex dx and ive acquired most of the parts so far..
1. 91 si engine harness
2. 91 si dizzy
3. 2 91 pm6 ecu's
4. 91 si injector resistor
5. 00 y8 intake manifold w/ all sensors, injectors n fuel rail

now my question is will the y8 manifold work? ive already found the postin on doin the swap and i kno i have to rewire a few things, so that part im clear on, i just havent found a post yet where they swapped in a y8 manifold.

Ne help would be much appreciated

yes it will work, sensors are different though, and the si engine harness will NOT plug into your car.

This is correct, thanks for clearing that up. You can't plug in the 91 Si engine harness into your 88 rex dpfi interior harness. Won't work, dpfi has 3 main plug ins, while mpfi has 4, there are extra wires on mpfi cars, thus why you do wiring when converting... If it were a case of plug and play, you wouldn't have these questions for us...

And no, you don't NEED obd0 injectors, unless you plan on using the injector clips from your 91 si engine harness, THEN you NEED obd0 injectors along with an injector resistor box. If you don't plan on running obd0 injectors then you will need the injector clips for the injectors you have, and you will need to delete your injector resistor box.

Seriously, just use your stock DPFI harness, and add the necessary wires. It's REAL easy, and a LOT less of a headache then trying to do some crazy *** wiring conversions... Been there... Done that... Or you can continue your path of trying to do things yourself and not taking anyone's advice, but I'm just trying to help you out get things right. If you need some injectors, I got some obd0 240cc injectors that I'm going to sell from my spare manifold, they work flawlessly.

Dpfi to Mpfi is so simple. Yes keep the original harness. Si harness is only good for donations. THe Si harness is different in many ways and just can't be used without serious modification. So just add four wires to your existing harness. I have made subharness before to do this. Using the complete y8 manifold with injectors makes the wiring really easy since no resistor box necessary. Since you have both complete harnesses you can make this look really nice and factory like. Either way there is plenty of info out there to make this easy for you. Good Luck
