Default My auto tranny swap is done!

well after 2 years in the making, my chevy to s2k swap is done

The trq converter is a 6k stall, so this should make for one screaming setup

Well anybody who has been around racing for a while knows that you can't beat the consistency of a auto setup vs a manual

Also after breaking a few trans, you say what the heck and over engineer the drivetrain so that you dont have to worry about it snapping. Alot like people have full blown race builds to just make 400 hp that can easily be made on a stock motor. Just an extra piece of insurance

I was just curious, bud. I know that automatics have their place in certain fields of motorsport.

Very nice. Can't wait to see if finished and what numbers it puts out at the track.

Are you doing the 300zx diff swap? Based on the machines you have at your disposal I'd say it wouldn't be hard to come up with something on your own.

We will have this availible as a complete ready to go kit, now that we have our parts back we will install them and begin testing. Will be going on one of our street S2ks making 800+whp. Once we make sure it is 100% we will have a full production run off and will have everything but the torque converters on the shelf, the torque converter will be per customer spec. We will offer it with Adapter plate, hardware, modified converter, flexplate/converter center, mounts, shifter, and built tranny with transbrake and will offer a kit sans the tranny and shifter if you have your own.

i hope the th400 will work at high rpm i know that the lip seals in them start to leak around 8k. Also what made you chose a circle D converter instead of a Neal Chance or Coan or some one like that???? i assume that this is going to be a revers manual valvebody with a brake. Is that converter even a spragless fullrace or just a street converter

Well the Circle D trq converters in houston have a very goood rep at the race track, also notice I got this converter on a major steal back when I was building my car and got 3 free rebuilds with it so I had my reasons.

It could be done to work with a manual also, I had personally reconsidered doing a borg/warner t56 when I was doing my car because making it to a auto was a pita

i hate the new 6l80/6l90 they are heavy and have way to much computer involvement in them. You cant even build a decent one because of the computer has set CVI's and if you go adding clutches and shiming up clutch clearances they go stupid and go in to limpmode. There is no tuning available to fix this yet either. Not to mention the super thin walled mid shaft in them that breaks and destroys 3/4 of the hardparts in the trans
