Cracked starter???
Hi all,
Have an 01 accord and over the last 2 years the starter has been driving me nuts! The factory starter cracked on the flange at the front mounting bolt and I figured well it just wore out whatever, replaced starter and things were fine for about a year and then it cracked in the same place so again replaced it 1 month ago and yet again it cracked today in the very same place
Has anyone heard of this or am i doing something wrong.....I don't get it

Im really not sure what is happening. I thought it was loosening up and whenever it engauged, it had same play and thats why it would break, but I had checked it last week to make sure it was ok and it was tight
maybe a flare in the gas tank will fix it

Oh and the first starter was the oem one, last two are Autolite, which do have a warranty, so atleast the cost isn't killing me, just the wife when her car breaks

warrantys are awesome, the only thing i could suggest before looking is maybe u need to check the torque specs required on that bolt, if i remember right they want alotta torque on that bolt.
