Default New wheels, new stance, new look. What size???

heres the deal guys. I own a 2000 integra and i just recieved my work meisters which are 16x7 +38 offset. the car will be sitting very low say 3" to be safe. i was wondering if i should something like a 205/45 or bump up to a 215/????. anybody ran something as wide as the 215? if so what sidewall thickness? have to roll fenders?

I have 215/45/16 azenis 615 on 16X7 +45 offset. I have 15mm spacers up front. I pulled the fenders with my hands a little. You should just go with 205's and save yourself a headache. mine rides high.

Yup. You can normally use either size, 205/45-16 or 215/45-16, on an Integra; both are within 1 percent of the diameter of the stock tire size. However, if you're lowering your car quite a bit, the 205/45-16 will give you a bit more clearance and less chance of rubbing, so you probably won't have to "roll" your fenders.

If you're looking for a really sticky tire (like the Azenis, only stickier), the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 and Toyo R1R are both available in 205/45-16.

thanks for the info. im really looking for a clean, flush look. also not planning to run a very sticky tire, i wont be using them to potential as i wont be doing any racing with the meisters on the car. just want a good all around tire with a good looking sidewall.

Then you might be better off with a slightly less sticky but longer-lasting tire, since the sticky tires I mentioned above might only last you 15K miles, maybe 20K. If you won't be using these tires in snow or frigid cold, you can get summer tires; consider the Yokohama S.drive or Fuzion ZRi, both available in 205/45-16, which should give you 25-40K miles. If you might be occasionally using them in snow or frigid cold, you'll want all-season tires; consider the Kumho ASX in 205/45-16, which may last even longer, 35-55K.

Which Dunlop Direzzas? There's a world of difference between the Sport Z1 Star Spec and the DZ101...

Yup. The Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec is a very sticky summer tire, one of the stickiest street tires you can buy, perfect for modified cars and for those who use their tires for track and/or autocross events as well as street driving. However, it isn't available in a 16" size for Integras. The Dunlop Direzza DZ101 is a longer-lasting summer tire that isn't as good as the two longer-lasting tires (Yokohama S.drive and Fuzion ZRi) I recommended above; it's not terrible, though, and if it's a lot cheaper than the S.drive or ZRi, you might be willing to accept the lower performance in exchange for the savings on the purchase price. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that the DZ101 is good because you can get it in 215/45-16. That's a common mistake, thinking that tread width is important to performance. It isn't. Even the S.drive in 205/45 will give you better performance than the DZ101 in 215/45 (and you'll get even better performance from one of the stickier, faster-wearing tires, even in 205/45).

Nitto makes several tires with the NT555 name. One is an R compound track tire, one is a drag radial, and one is an okay street tire. None are worth getting instead of the tires recommended above.

Please don't say "what about X tire" as though you think we've never considered it. I'm familiar with those tires and there are reasons I recommended the other tires instead.

If you are considering the longer lasting summer tires like the S.Drive and the Fuzion ZRi then you should also consider the BF Goodrich GForce sport. It has stiffer sidewalls than either of the other two. So the sidewall won't roll as much during corner entry, the trade off is that the tire will ride harder than the other two.

However, the g-Force Sport will give poorer overall traction. Compared to the S.drive and ZRi, it's really nowhere near as good. Quite crappy, in fact.

Stick with the S.drive or ZRi.

-1 on the ZRi. I have mounted MANY sets of these tires and driven on a few sets. They have never impressed me.
