Electrical guru needed, 94 integra not getting power to fuel pump
so im driving looking down at the radio, realize im decelrating and decide to push the gas pedal, nothing, engine stalls i imeediatly pull over. i *think* i saw smoke comming from in behind the radio, may have just been dust comming through the vents, since i pulled over on dirt road.
i check for fuel, nothing, no power at the pump. so immediatly check my main relay, unplug it and it smells burntt!. i figure no problem ill just get a new one. i plugged my new one in and still no fuel pump priming for 2 seconds when first turn the key, no power at the pump still.
so i check powers/grounds at the main relay, everything checks out except for pin number 6 , my test light is really dim and not nearly as bright as the rest of the pins. pin 6 is 2 yel/blk wires joining last second and meet litterly at the pin. my thoughts are 1 of the wires is cut somewhere or shorting? as my test light is in the slot for pin 6 i hear a ticking from the engine bay, follow it back to IACV, i unplugged the connecter at the IACV and ticking immediatly stops. i look at the connector and one of the wires is yel/blk!
this is where i need help! oh and another thing, i will be buying a multimeter and testing continuity on yel/grn between the pump and main relay. i havnt done it yet because my mind is thinking about the whole dim light from pin6. THANKS TO ANYONE THAT CAN HELP!

Your IACV will always tick or buzz when you have the key all the way on and the engine off.
How did you "check for fuel"? How do you know there's no power at the fuel pump?
First eliminate the possibility that it's a simple problem like your battery. Then check the main relay output at the ECU. And it wouldn't hurt to pull your stereo and see what's going on back there. The ECU "backup" power is in fact the same connection as your stereo's constant 12V.

so the IACV ticking/buzzing means nothing??
i initially checked for fuel at the rail. then realized the pump wasnt even priming and that there is no power at the fuel pump its self. i took out the radio briefly and was hoping to smell burt but i didnt investigate very much. will need to investigate more there. i opened my computer up, didnt smell like burning and didnt see any burnt areas.
which wires in the ecu do i look for power. i just bought a multimeter so i can finally ditch the test light. thanks again

This happened to me once and it was the wires that connect to the pump on the fuel pump harness that went bad. Wouldn't hurt to check it.
