Default Ej6 b18b1 swap

so im like 90% done with this motor swap. ditching the SOHC d16y8 for a B18b1... i aquired a complete 97 integra ls for the swap and went to work. got the motor in and almost done hookin the wiring harness up (cross my finger) i got it done right. now waitin on a new gas tank and findin time to finish the disc brake conversion... check it

yeah honda musta figured i needed all that tar to keep the road noise outta the interior

but u dont really. i took mine out and its no different when i have my rear seats in. if i take the back seat out its still not a rattle trap, just a lil louder...

Congrats..GL finishing it up. You'll like the LS..I like mine over the D16Z6.

Which tranny did you go with..I assume LS tranny since it came right out of that Teg.

yea the ls tran cause going back and forth to school i sorta need the longer gears but my buddy has a crx with the ls swap and the ls tran runs good. so maybe later ill swap it out lsd gsr tran. i put a stage 2 clutch so yea it should be good for now

Yeah hopefully it all works out. I have a GSR tranny mated to my LS..after awhile of being on the interstate with the engine spinning 3900RPMs at 80mph in 5th it gets kinda annoying. Course you can always put an LS 5th in although I hear it really isn't that much lower than the LS. I put a Stage 2 Clutch in mine to. It hooks up really nice. A bit rougher to drive in traffic,etc over the OEM clutch but its not bad. Friction point is smaller so you kinda get used to not really being able to slip it.

thanks, im gunna finish up the disc swap and im gunna keep my eye out for parts and work on an N/A all motor build. a turbo build isnt practical for me right now, maybe if i can get another car for daily driver ill retire this civic and build it for turbo.

mine just came out when i used a scraper, if it doesnt come out easy, use dry ice.

Only thing I think you should really do is re-sand that valve cover and re-paint it black. I don't like that red on the LS Valve cover. If it was a darker shade it would probably look better. But it looks almost orange.

Yeah I should have paid more attention cause now that I look back I can see in the background that its dark so the flash would have been really bright on the cover itself.

Maybe its just me..I guess usually when I think of an LS I think of a black valve cover.

i put in the fuel tank and started the motor last night, it started right up. now i just have to finish hookin up the clutch lines and front suspension, double check everything and get it drivin

im gunna have the car driving tomarro, the y8 was okay but i allready know from my buddies car the ls motor is far stronger in torque and exceleration, check his thread, search ... day in the life a crx build... by bigbuy... my y8 with headers, exhaust, CAI, and gutted interior still didnt have the acceration of his stock ls, anyways ill post back with my thouhgts on my ls swaps power later

most definatly will be lookin into ls/vtec swap. i was drivin my car yesterday gettin the clutch broken in alil and workin the kinks out, im takin it out to my local tuner/racing meets tonight. it pulls awesome, wayyyyy better acceleration and torque then the y8. we'll see what happens
