Default Passenger wheel is pushed back.

So after my driver side lower control arm bushing went out on me, I got it fixed but my passenger side wheel is pushed back from the accident. By having the wheel pushed back, that might have caused the passenger side axle to go out also because of how the axle sits. The axle completely tore out of it's socket, ripping the boot near the wheel like 3 months after the accident. Went to change the passenger axle but couldn't find what is crooked or bent or whatever. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Have you check your control to see if it was bent?

I should probably get another passenger lower control arm to compare it to mine, just by looking at it, I couldn't tell though. Just trying to see if anyone on here knows exactly what part holds the wheel so that it straightens out.

Lower control arm will fit but an EM1 uses a special, stamped steel lower control arm. I'd stick with the EM1 lower though. EK uses a through bolt, EG uses a stud to mount the control arm to the body.

XX3

Accident + wheel out of whack = bent lower arm...

In my last EJ1 I busted a curb a little hard and the **** was bent way back. Visually though the LCA looked fine.

just look for any kinks or ripples on the control arm itself. common problems from accidents. also check to where it bolts the the frame to see if anything is bent there.

its hard to eyeball it while its on the car unless its horribly bad.

i would take off your lca and compare it to a known good one... you'll probably see the difference right away.

Yeah still it'd have to be really ****ed to visually see anything. When I tapped the curb it bend so bad that the tire on a 15" rim was pressed against the wheel well. But visually the LCA looked fine. I picked up a used one that was bent just as bad (didn't know it at the time, thought it was fine). When the replacement didn't fix it I was all the way to replacing the front subframe with a brand new one (worked at a Honda Dealer at the time) which STILL didn't fix it. Bought a brand new LCA and wheel placement was perfect. Thankfully I had a good relationship with the bone yard and they took the messed up used LCA they sold me back.

I curbed my civic about four years ago in a PA winter and pushed my lower control arm bushing backwards, out of its mounting bracket. I ended up bending the control arm but it wasn't visible but I ended up having to bend it three ways to make it fit. I drove it to MD and back twice before I got it replaced. Go OEM rather than trying to make something fit
