Broken T-belt
So the timing belt on my hatch broke the other day. It was suppose to of just been replaced by the previous owner, but yeah I'm assuming he lied to me.
But anyway I know these motors are interference motors, so from any of you that have broken a t-belt before do you think I messed anything up? I was going to try and replace the belt and pump this weekend but not sure if I should just the head and pistions first?

You will definitely need to remove the head to inspect the valves and the tops of the pistons. Did you hear any type of impact? Either way, I would do this. My wife had her Accords one break and nothing was damaged, but thats a 1 in a million with an interferance motor.
ive had this happen on my stock d15 once put a new belt on and good as new, same with my built b18 changed belt and it ran the same as before but im sure it might of bent the valves a little bit maybe never tore it down to check but its still running after 7 months
Guess I'll try and replace it and see what happens. But no when it broke I didn't hear anything that would sound like the pistons hit the valves. I honestly thought my dizzy was bad.

This is what I did years ago when my bros timing belt broke on his D16Z6. He was cruising down the freeway at 80mph and pop it broke. We bought all the new parts and put them on and bam..good as new. Its still running to this day without problems. A friend of mine had bought an Accord for cheap. I think it was a 90 or 91 model..not sure. It had the SOHC 2.0L in it if I am not mistaken. It broke on him. We slapped a new one on it and it was good as new. My Uncle's ex wifes T-Belt also broke on her accord with the same engine as my buddies above. And it was fine as well after we put a new belt on it. I say get the parts and try before you disasemmble anything. Then if its wacked, get another engine and swap these new parts over to it.
Over the years from reading reports from Honda owners who have broken a timing belt, it seems to be a less than 50% chance of damage. In other words, when reading of a Honda owner whose timing belt failed, I would lean towards optimistic. Still, I would never delay changing my Honda's timing belt, risking a broken one.
A leakdown test seems to me to be the surest and relatively most inexpensive way to check for valves that may have bent due to losing timing via a broken belt. See http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/l...n/leakdown.php
One thing maybe worth noting at the junkyard is the presence of "valve reliefs" in the top of Honda engine pistons.
